It all started when Ruby won her first art award at the age of 5. The judges didn’t not believe that a 5 year old had created the art and insisted that her parents bring her in front of them to recreate it. She did and they were all very impressed. Her parents then suggested that she create an artistic name to protect her as a young girl. She took her first two letters from her first name and the first two letters of her maiden name to create Runa. She was a master artist from an early age. She has since mastered painting, woodworking, murals, tattooing, sculpture, flute making, crystal carving, jewelry making, digital art and lapidary art. 

Her and her husband Dan, better known as Bigfoot due to his height of 6’4”, have combined their love for rockhounding and art with their unique style of painting on the rock that they love to find and Runas talent of crystal carving using the ancient technique of reverse intaglio carving. 

The name Bigfoots Cabin was created as a symbol of what you would find inside Bigfoots Cabin if one existed. Here you will find incredible pieces of art that have come from the mind and imagination of Runa. 

She focuses on nature and the world of extraterrestrials which both inspire and give hope to greater things. 

Runa paints and creates nearly everyday to keep up with her demanding show schedule and loves to share her perception of life with others.
